- Darebin Homemade Food & Wine Festival

The City of Darebin will be a buzz next week with the commencement of the Darebin Homemade Food and Wine Festival. The Festival commences on Monday 11th May, 2015 with nightly workshops, demonstrations and cooking classes throughout the week around various locations including Preston, Northcote, Reservoir, Thornbury and Fairfield. It will conclude on Saturday 16th May, 2015 with the Meet the Makers Showcase from 1pm - 4pm at Preston Shire Hall. Many of the events are now fully booked out, but you can still register for others. Check out the Full Program and availability here.  Home Make It will be facilitating some events including:

The Salami Sessions
With the Melbourne Salami Festa. Assisted by Home Make It.

Celebrate the garage to plate philosophy practised by Melbourne’s salami makers and learn to make salami with the Melbourne Salami Festa 2014 champion Bernard Holbery. Sessions include breaking down a pig and a hands-on salami making lesson that finishes with a meal and important advice on curing techniques.
